Child Health Information Service (CHIS)

Child Health Information Service (CHIS) supports the delivery of the Government’s healthy child programme.

CHIS is commissioned by NHS England. NHS England mandates that every region across England has a CHIS service provider. There are different service providers for CHIS depending on the region. The role of CHIS in the healthcare journey of a child varies from area to area.

Every CHIS provider has a critical role sending  invitations and reminders for children in their area for immunisations and screening. CHIS providers also keep an active, accurate care record for each child. They also support healthcare professionals in their delivery of clinical interventions.

SCW is a CHIS service provider. SCW CHIS covers child health information services in multiple regions across England. We support 4.29 million children aged 0-19 (32.18% of child population in England).
